Ressu is a comprehensive school, offering education from grade 1 to 9 ( age 7 - 15). Currently we have in total 480 students, 299 of them are on grades 5 - 9 (MYP). At Ressu all students study according to the Finnish national curriculum and the International Baccalaureates PYP or MYP. The school has two separate streams: the Finnish language anf the English language.

- Language B: English (from grade 1)
- Optional language B: French, Swedish, Spanish (from Grade 4)
- Language B: Swedish (from grade7)
- Optional language B: French, German, Russian (from grade 8)
English stream:
- Language B: Finnish (from grade 1)
- Language B: French (from Grade 3)
- Optional language B: Swedish, Spanish (from grade 4)
- Language B: Swedish (from grade7)
- Optional language B: German, Russian (from grade 8)
The focus of education is on developing social skills and a healthy self-esteem. Those wishing to enrol in English classes have to take an aptitude test. The test is on Thursday August 12, 2010 at 9.00 AM.
The English stream is targeted for internationally mobile families with near native level language skills.The aptitude is to find out the child's skill level and ability to study and perform in English. Class size is from 10 - 25. All students are invited to the test by mail!

Children moving to Helsinki during the school year may have a placement. There will be individual test organized for them.
There is no aptitude test for the Finnish stream.
