City of Helsinki preparing for swine influenza

The schools in the City of Helsinki are prepared for the arrival of pig flu. The Health Centre will be responsible for measures to control the epidemic including vaccinations, treat those falling ill and issue care guidelines. The instructions distributed to schools and homes in August are still valid. To access these, click on the following link. The instructions are also available in Russian and Somali.

 

The guardians of children taking part in school afternoon activities have been issued instructions, which you can access by clicking on the following link.

The plan is to vaccinate all pupils and students in Helsinki schools in November-December. The Health Centre will provide more detailed information and give the schools further instructions. The vaccinations will take place in the schools. For more information on vaccination schedules and pig flu, see the Health Centre's website at www.hel.fi/terveyskeskus/. The education in Ressu Comprehensive School in the grades 1-9 is based on the national core curriculum , the joint curricular guidelines issued by the City of Helsinki, Ressu Comprehensive School’s own curriculum as well as on the PYP-curriculum (Primary Years Program, grades 1-4) and MYP-curriculum (Middle Years Program, grades 5-9) of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Our objective is to help the children and adolescents in their growth to honest, responsible, cooperative and inquisitive individuals appreciating the diversity of skills and environments. We want to provide each pupil with strong basic skills and knowledge, prepare them for future studies and support the development of their social skills and healthy self-esteem
